This is my last week of real freedom within myself and in my day to day life. On October 4th I truly enter into another realm in which I hold myself to the highest standards. The last few months have been spent preparing my life to enter into training. The life around me needs to be adjusted in the best way. My mind, body, and spirit must be properly set and aligned to handle the stress, the ups and downs of the coming year. I compare it to going on a mission, a journey, the Spartan agoge, or better yet, a quest. In this quest everything you do is for "the quest". It seems impossible. It seems too great to conquer, to much of a burden to carry physically and mentally. But yet, I know if I am true to this goal, this "impossible dream", then what needs to happen will happen.

2 Timothy 2:4 says, "No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier." I feel as though I am in service to this goal. Not in way of idolitry, but practically speaking, I must remain true to my training. A "normal" life for me will be set aside for 300 days. To remain faithful and diligent to the task set before me is crucial. My humanity, my personal desires that distract me, the tendency to give up, needs to be restricted so that my athletic performance can reach the highest levels possible. Restriction, at first is uncomfortable, but once I am settled, the fruit of my labor will be unique and powerful. I can't wait to put all of my training to the test on the greatest athletic stage in the world the Olympic Games.

In the coming weeks and months I will be telling this story of my Olympic journey as it happens. The good and the bad will all be on display. Some say that the journey of a person is more important that the final outcome, and that the depth of a person's life is more important than the length. I want to bring you with me on this extensive journey, into the depths of my travels, to expereince all that I am going through. History is made by those who live it and remembered because people spoke it forth and recorded it. Here is my history lived out and remembered. It begins....

"I believe that nothing is Impossible..."
